I haven’t got any experience, what should I do?

There are so many people out there with aspirations to become a CM that have no direct experience. There are occasions when sites only specifically want people who have done the job before, but everyone has to start somewhere and there are plenty of opportunities out there to get yourself on the CM ladder!

The place to start is at your favourite bingo site. Make sure you get to know the CM team and become an active member who regularly contributes to the site. Let it be known to them that you would love to join the team; this way if a vacancy becomes available your name will be highly recommended!

In the mean time, make sure you are signed up to our CM Recruitment Section and regularly apply for the many vacancies that are advertised. Remember, these recruiters want to hear from you so what are you waiting for?

Many CMs have found that working voluntary at the many free bingo sites out there, has been a great start. If you are unfamiliar with free sites, check out Free Bingo. These positions are often not as fiercely fought over and can be just as rewarding as the paid positions that will hopefully come your way!

Even if you are lacking the necessary experience for a particular position, make sure that you maximise on experience that you do have. If you have worked in customer service or with computers, and you have a good understanding of the internet, you should be including this. If you put this alongside your great experiences as a keen online bingo player, you will jump ahead of other applicants!

Lastly, you should be persistent. If you have applied for a position but heard nothing back, make sure you chase it up. This way not only do you look keen, but you make sure that the recruiter at least does not ignore your application. If they still don't think you are suitable then ask why. They will be able to tell you. Doing this will ensure that you can edit your CV and details to ensure you are giving them exactly what they are looking for next time!
