Q1: Tell us a little bit about you.

I'm married, with 3 great kids, 2 wonderful grandchildren, 2 fluffy cats, and 1 great big dog. I've spent the last few years traveling across the US with my husband, who is an 'over-the-road' truckdriver. I was born and raised in western Pa. Having been separated from my family at birth, I searched for and found 7 brothers and sisters and many additional family members. I was raised an only child who now has 7 brothers and sisters!

Q2: How long have you been a Chat Host?

I am a 'newbie' to the world of "chat host-dom". Bronny and the Funtime Bingo Family took a chance on me 2 months ago and I am forever grateful for their never-ending help and awesome support.

Q3: How did you become a Chat Host?

I became a chat host quite by accident! Like many Chat Hosts, I've been a 'Bingo-holic' for a few years and familiar with on-line bingo from a player's point of view. My daughter, CM Amanda, had been working for Funtime Bingo when a CM position became available unexpectedly. One phone call and a few IMs later, I found myself in the midst of another wonderful family.

Q4: What do you like most about the job?

I don't look at being a chat host as a job. (A job is something you have to do...This is something I WANT to do.) I look at it as a daily adventure. The players are the most important part of my time spent at Funtime. I work in the 'Candy Room' and my 'Candy Landers' fill my shift with laughter, fun, excitement and joy.

Q5: What is the worst part of the job?

I really don't think there is a down-side to chat hosting. Oh sure, there are some challenging and maybe some awkward situations, but in the greater scheme of things they are few and far between and relatively minor in comparison.

Q6: Which are your favorite chat room games?

My favorite chat games are the "roomies" favorite chat games. My personal favorite, though, is 'Candy Land'. A fellow CM developed this game and it has been a huge hit with the roomies. It's 'Trivia with a twist'. It gets everyone involved in the game and with each other. (Which always means fun and laughs). The players cheer for their roomies and they pull together as a group. I get so excited for them, too, as I run the game.

Q7: What is the funniest thing that has ever happened whilst you have been in a chat room?

There are so many 'funny things' that happen, I'm not sure one is more amusing than any other, but, the one thing that really makes me smile, is when all my 'drummers' get together. When we are playing a chat game that involves me giving them a number prior to the start of a game....they all get together and form a little band before I call the numb er... I have the rat-a-tat-tatters, the boom boom boomers. the sis-boom-bahs and whatever else they can think of....lol, it is a hoot!!!

Q8: What makes a good Chat Host?

Hmmm, What makes a good chat host? In my limited experience, I would have to say someone that has good people skills. Defiantly someone who can multi-task and a person with decent problem solving skills. A good chat host needs to be able to maintain balance in the room as well as create a friendly atmosphere for all. A good sense of humor is also an asset. I try to remember that money is involved and when you add that to the mix you have a whole other dimension. Attentiveness to the players needs, concerns and questions, is a must.

Q9: How would you like to see online bingo (as a whole) develop?

I think on-line bingo needs to continue to grow and develop. How cool would it be to have players from all over the world join us in chat? Imagine the possibilities.

Q10: Any other comments that you'd like to add about being a Chat Host?

Becoming a Chat Host at Funtime Bingo has been a very positive experience for me. I have learned so much from the people I work for and with. I've learned a lot about myself through others and I've found yet another family to add to my world. Being able to bring a little sunshine into the lives of others is a great bonus!
