Q1: Tell us a little bit about you.

I am sweet and innocent of course! Just ask my players they will tell you so! I am happily married to a wonderful man and our two youngest children are still at home. The other six have left the nest. Three of them have given us grandchildren (one more on the way). I am also the proud protector of our poor misunderstood caller Dumbo.

Q2: How long have you been a Chat Host?

I started chat hosting at Binglotto at the beginning of November 2004.

Q3: How did you become a Chat Host?

I was a player at the site and was assisting with tech support. Management approached me asking if I would be interested in hosting. They seemed to think I would be good at it. I like to think they were right. I know one thing for sure, I love hosting and our players are the best online.

Q4: What do you like most about the job?

The Players – they make the job! Having fun with them and helping them is the best. I love to see “lol” a lot while hosting! Knowing that you helped them to enjoy the time they spent in your room is the greatest reward. It is also great to meet people from all over the world! Sometimes I think I should be suffering from jet lag. Going to Holland, Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, New Guinea, USA and other places too many to list them all. I can say I have friends all around the world! Not many jobs give you that! In addition to our wonderful players we have a great team of hosts and the best managers and site owner. I love the fact our site owner pops in the room to visit and say hello to the players.

Q5: What is the worst part of the job?

There is supposed to be something bad about it? Only thing I can think of is not being able to give everyone a win! Does that count?

Q6: Which are your favorite chat room games?

I love all the chat games. But the ones I like the best are the games where everyone has a chance to win something whether they bingo or not. On Monday nights we have Treasure Chest. You never know what is going to be in the treasure chest. Will it be something for your Neighbor or something for you? Watch out though sometimes they are filled with seaweed and water and you could get wet! Just ask our site owner who happened to stop for a visit just as I opened a chest and water and seaweed poured out all over him! Oops lol

Q7: What is the funniest thing that has ever happened whilst you have been in a chat room?

Seems there is always something funny going on. Perhaps it was the time I had some players that did not answer my roll call. So I went to the refrigerator, took out a couple of cans of whip cream, sprayed it on their hands while they slept. Then took a feather and tickled their noses. Amazing how many woke up and wondered what was all over their face. Of course I did offer them a towel and to squirt them off with the hose. Or maybe it was trying to find the red dress that disappeared while we were on our bus trip. You don’t want to know the condition of that bus when we returned. Needless to say the following weekend we had a bus cleaning and repair for the players.

Q8: What makes a good Chat Host?

A Good Chat Host is someone that is patient, has a good sense of humor, can be silly or can be serious. You have to interact with the players, pay attention to what is being said in the room and what is happening, greet each player and inform them what is playing in the room when they arrive. You are there not only to help them laugh and have a good time but to help them when they have questions or need assistance. When you leave the room, you want them to remember what a good time they had. If they do, they will keep returning, not for the big jackpot win, but because they enjoy the time they spend in the room. Winning that jackpot is always a nice bonus of course.

Q9: How would you like to see online bingo (as a whole) develop?

I would like to see computers in nursing homes and places where people that are unable to get out are able to access the sites. Having sites that offer free bingo and pay bingo enables them to play even if on the strictest budget. A lot of these people are lonely and may have been dedicated land bingo players. To be able to bring bingo to their lives again would be awesome! Not only would they have the thrill of playing bingo but they would make new friends.

Q10: Any other comments that you'd like to add about being a Chat Host?

Being a chat host has been a wonderful experience for me. I have met some wonderful people and have had so many great times. I treat players as I would want to be treated. It is also important to follow the guidelines and rules for the site that you work at. Giving the players consistency is important. No matter which host is working the game should run the same. Remember you are there for the players. Without them you have nothing to host. They are there for a good time so do your best to give it to them!
