Q1: Tell us a little bit about you.

I am the proud mother of one daughter and have total 5 children with blending by marriage. I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, with my hubby Jim and our Springer spaniel “Maggie”. I have an empty nest so I now devote most of my time to my work as chat master, CM Cascade, at Bingo Cabin since it’s launch in July 18,2004.

Q2: How long have you been a Chat Host?

I have been a chat host for 6 great years. I have worked 4 different sites since 1999 but have found my favorite at Bingo Cabin.

Q3: How did you become a Chat Host?

I became a chat host shortly after beginning online bingo in 1999. My daughter was an aol chat host and I watched her and learned everything I could. I then did some volunteering chat hosting for about 6 months on a free bingo site. I was then approached and asked if I would like to join a site team of chat hosts. I submitted a resume and thus began my new and loved career as a chat host.

Q4: What do you like most about the job?

I enjoy meeting new players and Iove teaching what I know. I like the fact that stay-at-home moms, shut-ins, elderly and ill people can join us in bingo and enjoy the company and companionship we have to share. I love working at home it helps me be who I really am online with the players. I feel as though they are all friends that visit my home everyday! It’s Wonderful!! Best job I ever had and best site I ever worked for!!

Q5: What is the worst part of the job?

There really isn’t a bad part of the job but there are situations I feel uncomfortable with in the job at times. The worse situation is the squabbling and intentional confusion of disruptive or rude players that torment others for their satisfaction or gain.

Q6: Which are your favorite chat room games?

I prefer chat room games that spread the wealth to all our players but I don’t forget to throw in a few big BB games to make sure the big BB hunters get a chance to strut their stuff too. I lean toward games that keep players active and involved in our site.

Q7: What is the funniest thing that has ever happened whilst you have been in a chat room?

OMG, so many funny things it’s hard to choose just one, but I think one that stood out was when all the players and the previous CL set me up for a real live wire hour. Every time I would post something on the message board, barnyard animal sounds were all they would type back to me. I was laughing so hard I almost wet my pants. I wasn’t sure how long it would last so I just started posting barnyard animals for bonuses instead of using player aliases. Our “rubber room” was full that night and the naughty girl’s corner was hummin’!

I have since used this on numerous occasions to get participation booming.

Q8: What makes a good Chat Host?

A good chat host is a team player that goes the extra mile to help those new to the site as well as entertain and maintain harmony among the players who are dedicated to the site and support it. A good chat host will achieve these goals with little effort, as I truly believe these qualities come from within and cannot be false or copied. Patience is by far the most important thing for a chat host in my opinion. The daily routines will come easily to one who is truly fit for a chat hosting position.

Q9: How would you like to see online bingo (as a whole) develop?

Hard Question since we offer the best at Bingo Cabin. I would like our software to remain as lifelike as it is now because that is what makes us unique in the online bingo world. I would like to see some new avatars to match more personalities. I would like to see online bingo reach every shut in and lonely person in the world so they too can enjoy the friendships and fun we have to offer here at home in the US and around the world.

Q10: Any other comments that you'd like to add about being a Chat Host?

You don’t have to spend a ton of money to be able to enjoy some companionship, even if just a few hours a week. Bingo is fun and the players are wonderful friends. I would like to thank all the players, our management Hayley and Ray, CL Aspen, CL SunValley and CL Tahoe they make me the CM I am. Without any one of them my life would be missing something wonderful!
