Q1: Tell us a little bit about you.

I’m a mother of 6 and a grandmother of 7. All my children are grown up and on their own. My husband and I have a small farm in Kentucky where we raise horses, ponies, goats, ducks and chickens.

Q2: How long have you been a Chat Host?

I’ve been a chat host since 1997.

Q3: How did you become a Chat Host?

I was a bingo player who enjoyed talking. I was approached by a CM and asked if I would be interested in hosting and the rest is, as they say, history!

Q4: What do you like most about the job?

I love the players! Bingo players are the sweetest, nicest, most loving and caring people in the world!

Q5: What is the worst part of the job?

I think the worst part is not being able to be in chat as much as I’d like. I have to sleep some time!

Q6: Which are your favorite chat room games?

My absolute favourites are the ones where the players have to answer a question or guess from clues. I love the chat and those kinds of games that really get players involved are the best!

Q7: What is the funniest thing that has ever happened whilst you have been in a chat room?

We have 3 halls at Cashmill that share 1 chat. I like to say wtg to the winning players in each hall. Well, without thinking I blurted out to the player who had bingo’d whose name was Kissme, “WTG !! Kissme in the Ball Hall!” I blushed for an hour and I think that the laughter didn’t die down for 2 days!

Q8: What makes a good Chat Host?

First of all I think that a good chat host has to have a lot of patience. She must also have a good sense of humour and keep a smile at their finger tips. She must be willing to go that extra step to help a player, whether it is a deposit, a withdrawal or a problem understanding a chat game or the game software itself. She must be unbiased and fair, interact with the room but know also when to be quiet. She must know her site inside and out and be able to answer just about any question put to her. She should always use courtesy and kindness towards all players but also be able to maintain order in her chat without being a dictator.

Q9: How would you like to see online bingo (as a whole) develop?

I’d like to see it be more directed towards the average person. They are family oriented and don’t come into bingo to hear bad jokes or language. They just want to play, have fun and forget their worries for awhile and enjoy chatting with their bingo friends.
I’d also like to see all the players treat each other with courtesy and consideration. I see so many players who hit a winning streak and are belittled and berated by a few soreheads in chat. Everyone has the right to play as few or as many cards as they can afford and it’s not nice to hurt someone else’s feelings just because they win.

Q10: Any other comments that you'd like to add about being a Chat Host?

I’d like to commend my fellow chat hosts at Cashmill Bingo and also at the other bingo sites online. You all do a terrific job and are loved by a lot of players! Of course, I think our site is the best but I know that there are a lot of good Chat Hosts out there at other sites who are doing their best to make online bingo as fun for their players as they can!
