LadyBelle from Bingo-Knights
Q1: Tell us a little bit about you.
I am 40 yrs old, live in Southern Ontario with my darling husband and our two terrific boys ages 5 and 2.
Q2: How long have you been a Chat Host?
I started as a chat host in January of 2003, so just over a year now.
Q3: How did you become a Chat Host?
I was playing online bingo when I was approached by the head CM of another site. She knew I was looking for a job and she thought I would be “terrific” as a CM, her words not mine. lol
Q4: What do you like most about the job?
Oh gee, what isn’t there to like? Meeting new people everyday, establishing new friendships and keeping up with old ones, the team I am working with now is the best any where, we all love our jobs which makes for a great working atmosphere. I joke in the room about sore sides, but isn’t really a joke, literally finish a shift with sore sides from laughing. My husband or children will come downstairs, see me laughing at the computer, shake their heads and walk away. I tell my roomies I am totally sane…have certified release papers to prove it. My grandmother always said “never think you have wasted a day if you have made at least one person smile” This job (if you can call it that) affords me that pleasure!
Q5: What is the worst part of the job?
Leaving at the end of a shift!
Q6: Which are your favorite chat room games?
Ones that get the roomies laughing and talking while they are playing bingo, we have so many of them over at BingoKnights would be hard to choose. My absolute favourite though is Sunday Knight CH party. The room is packed and all the CH’s are there interacting with the roomies and giving away tons of bbs.
Q7: What is the funniest thing that has ever happened whilst you have been in a chat room?
Everyday brings something new and funny, so hard to pick just one.
We have a chat filter that tells you that you have said an “oops” and won’t allow it to be put in chat. For example. glasses, pass.. massive, etc all contain an “oops’ word. Some players discovered that if they typed in caps it bypassed the filter, so for 15 solid minutes had players typing every word imaginable with those 4 letters in them in caps.
Q8: What makes a good Chat Host?
First off I would have to say, someone who is there because they love to make people smile, one who truly loves the work they are doing, a good host is one that can carry on 14 different conversations at once in the room, keep track of game bbs, and answer im’s from the office and still have that unique ability to make each person there feel like they are the most important person in the room.
Q9: How would you like to see online bingo (as a whole) develop?
I would like to see more sites make their players the number one priority, like ours does. When a players request something, be it a new chat game, more cash out or funding options, bigger deposit bonuses…if it is at all possible, it will be implemented. We have a live help on our site which is one of the best features. When players know that they have the option of clicking that little button, and someone will be there almost immediately to assist them it makes them feel more comfortable, and increases their playing enjoyment.
Q10: Any other comments that you'd like to add about being a Chat Host?
Any other comments that you'd like to add about being a Chat Host?
I would like to say thank you to Bingo Queen for including me in this fantastic team of hosts, and of course I would be remiss if I didn’t invite each and every one reading this to come visit us for the best bingo experience anywhere.
